14th Annual Conference: Addressing the Challenges of a Changing World

  The Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies/L'Association Canadienne des thérapies cognitives et comportementales (CACBT/ACTCC), is hosting their 14th annual conference on the theme of “Addressing the Challenges of a Changing World”. The conference focuses on applying national standards of CBT, fostering conversations between mental health professionals to improve knowledge and training in CBT, and advance and spotlight CBT research. Some of the topics covered at this year’s conference include difficulties and opportunities for reconciliation when administering CBT with Indigenous people, climate anxiety in youth, mindfulness and meditation in mood and anxiety disorders, and managing insomnia in adolescents. Naiima Farah, a Faculty Counsellor from George Brown College, will discuss what factors contribute to mental health difficulties among African, Black and Caribbean (ABC) students, such as the impact of colonial violence.
