Thriving on Campus is a multi-phase study exploring the experiences, strengths, wellbeing, and academic development of diverse 2SLGTBQ+ university students in Ontario. Thrive on Campus aims to generate a better understanding of how the campus climate impacts 2SLGBTQ+ students and to gain better insights into the factors that foster resilience. Research findings will help inform services and policies to better support 2SLGBTQ+ students. - The project will take place in four phases:
- A scan of the LGBTQ2S+ policies, resources, and services available at Ontario universities
- A province-wide online survey conducted with LGBTQ2S+ students
- Follow-up interviews with LGBTQ2S+ students
- Regional and provincial webinars to share the findings with community and university stakeholders
Thriving on Campus has published five reports as part of phases 1 and 2:
- Study Overview & Participant Demographics
- 2SLGBTQ+ Campus Climate: Students’ Experiences on & Perceptions of Campus
- Campus Policies, Facilities & Resources
- The Experiences of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) 2SLGBTQ+ Students
