• Program Evaluation Toolkit
    Apr 26, 2018 | University of Calgary

Developed by the University of Calgary, this toolkit is a resource to assist with the development of program evaluation strategies to help you and your team effectively measure, track, and use your findings in a strategic and streamlined manner. This toolkit is created with program evaluation in mind, focused on, but not limited to, strategies and scales related to wellbeing and mental health (e.g., mental health and well-being, loneliness, resiliency, and sense of belonging). While this toolkit was created with community wellness and mental health programs in mind, the vast majority of its resources are applicable to programs with a diverse range of objectives and goals. The toolkit is divided into several main sections with additional pages and resources available. The toolkit explores the five main stages of evaluation, beginning with foundational program planning information, and then exploring planning and preparation, collecting data, analyzing data, and using your findings.

Changing the Culture of Mental Health on Campus Through Evaluation

Embracing the need to enhance campus mental health includes the development of a strategic process, one that is motivating and engaging, and truly resonates with the community.  With the University of Calgary’s Campus Mental Health Strategy, campus stakeholders have taken up program evaluation as a means to their goal of creating a holistic mental health culture and experience for their staff, faculty, students, and post-doctoral scholars. Using the University of Calgary as a case example, discussions during this workshop were focused on evaluation best practices, learnings, and next steps related to participant’s unique institutional experiences.
