Sheridan College developed the Cultivating Trauma-Informed Spaces in Education: Promising Practices Manual based on findings from a systematic research study. The goal of the manual is to develop proactive measures to enhance student support, and safer learning experiences, and reduce trauma, re-traumatization, and vicarious trauma. The manual helps guide employees and students in post-secondary settings to promote awareness of trauma-informed education and to better understand the role education systems play in proactively preventing and healing trauma at mircro, messo, and macro levels.
