Five Years In: What We Know About Implementation of the National Standard & Early Outcomes
On August 19, 2026, the Best Practices Network (BP-Net) hosted a webinar titled “Five Years In: What We Know About Implementation of the National Standard & Early Outcomes,” presented by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). Led by speakers Dr. Stephanie Knaak, Laura Mullaly, and Sarah Ferguson, the session examined how Canadian post-secondary institutions have adopted and operationalized the National Standard for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students five years following its initial release. Using evidence from a mixed-methods evaluation that combined survey data with key informant interviews, the presenters explored how institutions put the Standard into practice. They highlighted common barriers and enablers across campuses, offering practical insights to help participants strengthen their own student mental health planning.
