Webinar: The Intersection of Anti-Black Racism, Masculinity, and Mental Health
Event Description
| Hosted by The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health (CICMH)
In this Q&A-style webinar, Dr. Warren Clarke (University of Manitoba) explores the intersectional nature of mental health and its impact on Black men. The discussion will examine how anti-Black racism, masculinity, and other social factors shape mental health experiences and outcomes. Drawing on his work as the founder of The Barbershop Talk Series, Dr. Clarke will also highlight the importance of engaging Black men in honest, culturally safe conversations about their lived experiences. This webinar aims to deepen understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black communities and to inform how post-secondary campuses can better support mental well-being. Accessibility: Closed captioning in French will be available.
