Isaac Wright
Isaac Wright (RSW; he/him) is a registered social worker at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he provides mental health support and resource navigation to students. He also supervises student peer support workers, leads the King’s Mental Health Strategy, and oversees mental health and crisis intervention policies at King’s. He is currently pursuing his MSW by distance at University of Calgary, where his thesis research explores peer support by and for trans people living with suicidality. His other research interests and activities include postsecondary student mental health (with the Matheson Centre), as well as faculty/staff in addiction recovery (with the Recovering in Place Lab). Isaac has worked and volunteered in many community settings serving queer and transgender people, and has lived, professional and research experience with transgender mental health and gender affirming care. His areas of expertise include: transgender student support, campus case management, and peer support programming.
