Innovative Perspectives on University Student Mental Health
This presentation consisted of five Canadian Institutes for Health Research- Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (CIHR-SPOR) research teams presenting on how to build capacity and promote student mental health and provides insight into how to include students and partners as active participants in the research process in a range of relevant and innovative studies on new approaches to campus mental health. The projects discussed include enhancing service delivery through stepped care, the use of student-informed data and evaluation of strategies to develop resilience and support academic outcomes.
The goal of this session was to provide participants with an intermediate/advanced knowledge of new findings in student mental health with an overview of currently funded ongoing research studies across campuses and provinces. The studies include patients/students and partners as active participants in the research process to ensure their voices are prioritized to enhance outcomes.
