Healthy Relationships Toolkit

The Relationships Toolkit, developed by the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health (CICMH) is designed to support post-secondary students in building and maintaining healthy friendships and relationships. Relationships can be joyful, complicated, messy, and meaningful, and post-secondary education is often a time of exploration and self-discovery. This toolkit addresses skills such as setting boundaries, communicating openly and with care, articulating personal needs, and ending relationships when they are no longer working.

The toolkit offers evidence-based ideas, reflections, and practical tools to help students think about their current relationships, create new connections, and navigate where they want to be in their social lives. It is not intended to provide all the answers or promote perfection, but rather to serve as a starting point for self-reflection and growth in meaningful connections.

As with all CICMH toolkits, this is a living document. New ideas and approaches will be added over time as learning continues. Feedback is welcomed through the toolkit evaluation.
