Harm Reduction Toolkit

The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health’s Harm Reduction Toolkit was created for campus personnel who want to understand harm reduction strategies and integrate them within post-secondary environments.

This toolkit delves into the core concepts of harm reduction, outlines various contexts for its application, and offers practical methods for supporting students who may be participating in risky behaviours.

Part 1 of the toolkit consists of:

  • Introduction to harm reduction
  • Risk factors and barriers to accessing care
  • Overarching recommendations for harm reduction on campus

Part 2 includes:

  • Substance use on campuses
  • Behavioural addictions
  • Sexual health and sex work
  • Self-harm

The toolkit is designed to equip post-secondary institutions with the insights and actionable tactics necessary to foster safer, more nurturing environments.
