Graduate Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Toolkit
The National Graduate Graduate Caucus of the Canadian Federation of Students – Ontario carried out a year-long research initiative to create a mental health toolkit for graduate students. This resource is designed to support graduate student communities in assessing and enhancing the mental health and overall well-being of graduate students within Canadian post-secondary institution.
The toolkit is categorized into four sections:
- Institutional Evaluation
- Institutional Tools
- Graduate Community Tools
- Individual Self-Care Resources
The toolkit includes worksheets, evaluation checklists, case studies, and links to supports and targets graduate student associations, faculty, staff, and policymakers. It helps users identify gaps in services, implement evidence-based interventions along the mental health continuum (promotion, prevention, early detection, treatment, and recovery), and foster both community-level and individual resilience.
