Vijaya Chikermane is an associate of Nayar Consulting. She is also the founding Director of 7.10 stories, a consultancy specializing in using diverse forms of storytelling for social change. She works with clients to build creative knowledge mobilization tools, design imaginative community engagement projects and develop compelling resources. Vijaya has over 15 years of experience working with health and gender-based programs, public education, resource development, corporate giving and community engagement. Her prior work includes health service planning and administration as the Executive Director at the Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP) and in building learning environments with the Ontario Literacy Coalition (re-branded as Essential Skills Ontario) as a Knowledge Exchange Consultant. Vijaya holds an MSc of Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and as a strong believer of life-long learning, she has recently completed courses on research methods, arts-based engagement, design thinking and transmedia storytelling. She is passionate about exploring diverse models of communication to transform complex data into simple meaningful messages that drive positive social change.
